What is soy wax? All you need to know!
A fluffy blanket, a hot chocolate and... the soft, flickering light of a candle that bathes your room in a cosy, warm atmosphere. But not just any candle! No, we're talking about a candle made of soy wax. This sustainable wax is the popular alternative to paraffin, beeswax and the like. Soy wax has therefore long been the first choice for anyone who enjoys environmentally conscious enjoyment and appreciates high-quality candles.
At ÉCLAT, we also value natural and sustainable ingredients, which is why our scented candles are also made from high-quality soy wax, which ensures not only clean burning, but also releases fragrances particularly long and intensively.
But what exactly is soy wax, what advantages does it have compared to paraffin and other waxes and how is soy wax produced?
We'll enlighten you and also tell you why soy wax is the perfect choice for sustainable scented candles à la ÉCLAT.
From the soybean to
soy wax
Soy wax vs. paraffin wax
Whilst paraffin wax scores points for its cost-effective production and even burning, unfortunately it does have some disadvantages. As paraffin is obtained from mineral oil, it is non-renewable and releases harmful substances when it burns, which can pollute the air in a room. In addition, paraffin candles form soot when burning, which can build up on furniture and walls, and have a shorter burning time than soy wax.

In contrast, soy wax has the advantage of being biodegradable and environmentally friendly: soy wax candles made from soybean oil burn cleanly and have a longer burning time. Only the production is somewhat more expensive and requires agricultural land.
Soy wax vs. beeswax
Unlike paraffin wax, beeswax is a natural and biodegradable wax alternative. The advantage of beeswax is that it leaves a pleasant, subtle honey scent in the air while it has a long, even burn time.
The disadvantage of beeswax is that it is significantly more expensive than other waxes. In addition, unlike soy wax, it is not vegan. So if you are looking for a vegan and environmentally friendly candle option, you are still better off with soy wax.
Conclusion: While paraffin wax is widely used primarily for financial reasons, paraffin candles have considerable disadvantages for the environment and health. Although beeswax is a natural alternative, it is quite expensive and not vegan.
Soy wax, on the other hand, offers the perfect balance between sustainability, burning time and fragrance absorption – the ideal choice for high-quality scented candles such as those made by ÉCLAT.
Soy wax – a trend product used in our ÉCLAT scented candles
As we now know, soy wax is a high-quality alternative to conventional waxes. Thanks to its creamy consistency and low melting temperature of around 50-55 °C, soy wax candles burn particularly slowly and evenly, allowing them to burn for a long time.
This is precisely why we at ÉCLAT use soy wax for our scented candle collection. Our high-quality scented candles are made in Germany from 100% soya wax and are infused with fine fragrance oils. This results in harmonised and long-lasting scented candles with an extremely long burning time and ideal fragrance distribution.
Our candles offer a wide selection of different ambient scents – from fresh laundry to warm amber-vanilla scents. A special highlight of our collection are the exclusive ÉCLAT N° perfume candles, which capture the scent of your favourite perfume in the shape of a candle. What could be better than lighting your favourite ÉCLAT scent as a candle?
Because your (scented) candle can do more than just burn!
Soy wax offers the perfect combination of a long burning time thanks to its low melting point, a clean burn and a particularly intense release of fragrance. Compared to paraffin candles, whose wax is obtained from mineral oil, and beeswax, which comes from beekeeping and is therefore not vegan, soy wax is a natural and plant-based wax option for candles and scented candles - without the guilt. No wonder soy wax is becoming increasingly popular in the world of scented candles! If you are looking for environmentally conscious candles, soy wax is the right choice.
That's why we at ÉCLAT also consistently use 100 % soy wax for our exclusive scented and perfume candles – so you can enjoy luxurious fragrances and make a sustainable choice at the same time.
Because it's not just about the scent, but also about the good feeling that comes with a responsible choice!
